Cabin Policy
Group/Family Cabins
- You are responsible for bringing your own sheets and removing all personal items from the cabins upon departure.
- Please don’t break anything. You may be held responsible for repairs to damaged property in the cabins.
- If you booked a Group/Family cabin as an individual or a couple, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation and refund your money so that a larger group or family of 3 or 4 may rent the cabin instead.*
*If you have a medical need that requires a cabin, please email us at info@piedmontearthskills.org so we can make arrangements for you.
Dorm Policy
Dorms are 18+. Parents with kids of any age below the age of 18 will need to rent a family cabin. If family cabins are sold out and you really need a cabin, please reach out to us and we will see if we can accommodate you.
With renting space in our dorms, you agree to follow these rules. Not following these rules may result in you being removed from your dorm without a refund.
Dorm Rules
- Be patient, accepting and understanding.
- Try to be kind and respectful.
- Only individuals assigned to a dorm are allowed in that dorm. No outsiders, not even your bestie or that cool person you just met. This is for the privacy of and security of your fellow dormites.
- No sexy fun times in the dorms, including between people assigned to the same dorm. The other folks in the dorm (probably) don’t want to walk in on or have to listen to that.
- No sexual harassment or harassment of a non-sexual sort. A first offense will be met with a conversation and, depending on circumstances, may result in immediate removal from the space. A second offense will result in immediate removal from the space.
Examples of harassment include but are not at all limited to a) commenting on another person’s body or appearance; b) repeatedly placing your possessions in another person’s space in a way that interferes with their wellbeing; c) refusing to move your possessions when they are in someone else’s space and you have been asked to move them; d) continuing to talk to someone when they have asked you to stop; e) continuing any action towards another person when they have asked you to stop; f) sexually suggestive noises or motions; g) sexual innuendos, and so on. - Please keep your things on your side of the cabin and please keep your things tidy. We all have to take up space for a minute to change or shower, but please tidy up promptly after you are done taking care of yourself.
- Keep the floors clear of your belongings for safe access to the doors, especially at night.
- Quiet hours after 9 PM.
- Lights out at 10 PM. Headlamps on low are ok so long as they are not interrupting anyone else’s sleep.
- If you want to take an action that will affect another person in the cabin or the cabin as a whole, ask first, even if you think it is a positive action.
- Don’t worry about the gnome.
Gender Matters
This issue has become fraught in recent years as the world has been going through things. We will defer to what is on a person’s state-issued ID if any questions arise. Folkx who are unsure of where they will be welcome are always welcome in the Everyone dorm. Everyone who is assigned to a dorm is protected from harassment of any kind within that space, regardless of gender or disagreements related thereto.
