Overview
We changed the name from Worktrade to Cambium Crew because the cambium is the growth layer of a tree. We are all growing and learning at the gathering. We wanted to recognize how important and essential The Cambium Crew is to the event. Without the cambium layer, the tree would not grow. Without your assistance, we wouldn’t be able to make the event happen.

The Piedmont Earthskills Gathering has 18 Full and 22 Partial positions available for people who would like to work in exchange for entry to the event. The majority of positions may involve helping on one of the following teams:
– Kitchen (3 different teams) (FULL AND PARTIAL TRADE AVAILABLE)
– Set up/Breakdown: tarps, firewood, site clearing, lighting and signage (CREW IS FILLED)
– Event Operations: registration, First-Aid, sanitation (during event) and Kid Crew. (FILLED EXCEPT FOR REGISTRATION)
Full-trade positions mostly include work that is completed before and after the event (Sunday to Monday commitment). Partial-trade positions include work that is completed during the event.

Important General Information
This is an application only and sending this application does not secure your spot for the Crew. You must pay your registration fees as soon as possible to secure your position.
You will be contacted upon receipt of your application to discuss your spot and work. Once an offer has been made, you need to register online and pay your registration fee as soon as possible to hold your spot on The Crew. Registration fees are due before September 2nd, 2026 online. If you are sending payment via snail mail, please let us know in advance. The day after the deadline, your unsecured position will be offered to someone on the waitlist.
We recommend applying and paying early, as some positions will fill earlier than others.
Positions offered for Piedmont Earthskills Gathering:
1) Cambium Full – $50 (+fees) non refundable application/registration fee. Expected to arrive early and stay late, unless they have worked something out ahead of time. ~24-30 work hours. Arrival date for Full Crew is Sunday BEFORE the event at 2pm. Departure is the Monday AFTER the event and when all breakdown and clean up is completed (starts Sunday at lunch).
2) Cambium Partial – $200 (+fees) non-refundable application/registration fee. Partial Crew requires ~16-20 work hours during the event. This is a $300 discount on the full event ticket. Arrival date for Partial Crew is Wednesday at 10am and departure is the last day of the event, Sunday, after lunch.
If 4 Crew members would like to share a cabin (additional fee) for Pre/During/Post event, please contact us for arrangements.
